Republican Party of Nassau County Florida

Message from our Chairman

My Fellow Nassau Republicans,

Now is the time to prepare for 2012. Many of you have already volunteered to serve on committees and have offered suggestions for the groundwork that we need to have in place to get out the vote in 2012. I thank you and now ask you to get one more volunteer each and we could double our involvement in a short period of time.

We just completed the 10th Annual Roy C. Taylor, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament and the bank account has been replenished. We completed the golf tournament using social media – emails, facebook and telephone calls and it was very successful. Thanks to all of you who participated in any way!!

It is now important for us to begin developing the ways in which we can recruit volunteers and maintain them during off years as well as election years. We are trying to grow our membership and there are several precincts where we need more active committee members and a few where we have none at this time.

We have a communications committee chair, Dee Dee Corbin, who is working very hard upgrading our web site and contacting members by email. We will continue to strive to improve our communications with our members and the community at large. Now is the time to get active and make sure that we are prepared for 2012!

Our battle cry is simple and you have heard it before: LET’S GET TO WORK!

Thank you, God Bless You and God Bless America

Cherie Billings, Chairman, Republican Party of Nassau County

What is the REC?

The Republican Executive Committee (also known as the REC) is the governing body of the Republican Party of Nassau County.  Members (precinct committeemen and women) of the Republican Executive Committee represent the registered voters who live in their precincts. The number of Republican precinct committeemen and women depends on the number of voters in the precinct.

The Republican Executive Committee is the component of the Republican Party of Nassau County that elects the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer of the Party. Members of the REC (the Republican precinct committeemen and committeewomen) also approve the Party’s constitution, rules, policies & procedures, and budget.

The REC also plays an important role in the grassroots effort of the Party and the overall team effort to get Republicans elected in Nassau County. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Republican Executive Committee, please contact one of our officers.
